Objective
Optus required a free-standing interactive kiosk to help customers choose a network plan based their usage requirements. The kiosk will include a touch-screen device to navigate through the network plan offers and instruct the user to bring a SIM pack located below to a service desk for activation.
Solution
The this simple yet elegant display is constructed from highly durable materials to put up with prolonged customer interaction and ensure longevity. The base and uprights are made from chrome powder-coated steel. The touch screen enclosure is manufactured in 2 halves from vacuum formed ABS. SIM packs hang on custom stainless steel hooks which are attached to 10mm Acrylic. This Acrylic piece is held within the touch-screen enclosure and also on the lower parts of the uprights to prevent any movement. Below the SIM packs are 2 DL Size brochure holders useful for distributing company literature. The touch-screen device comprises of a touch sensitive LCD panel which is connected to an Arduino computer running the company's plan builder app. This device is fully updatable over wifi to ensure plans and promotions can be added or removed.
